Holiday dress shopping
As women, we’re often the ones responsible for creating the holiday magic—buying and wrapping gifts, planning parties, organizing meals, and hosting our families and in-laws. And on top of all that, we’re expected to look fabulous while doing it and dazzle at every holiday party! Phew, I need a drink just thinking about it!
The great news for you is that I have been a stylist and personal shopper for over twenty years, and now that I am back to blogging, I am here to help!
5 things to remember when shopping for a holiday frock.
Step outside your comfort zone. Holiday looks are all about experimenting! If you spot something and think, “That’s not usually me, but I love it,” give it a try!
Sparkle is encouraged. Sequins, shimmer, feathers, and tulle are perfect for the season—just maybe not all in one outfit. Embrace the glam!
Shop early for tailoring. Don’t wait until the last minute or for the invite to arrive. Shop now, have your outfit tailored if needed, and be ready when the invitations start flooding your inbox or mailbox.
Swap out your usual handbag. Every woman should have at least one evening bag (or seven!). A mismatched handbag can ruin a look, so choose an elegant option that complements your outfit.
Choose your shoes wisely. Shoes can make or break an outfit. They should look fabulous but also be comfortable enough to keep you dancing all night. And a side note: after 18, no taking shoes off at an event!
